BEFORE YET YOU FLY by Hillary Turyagyenda

Sunlit sky; blue-streaked sky

Wondering eye oh wondering why

Early oh why do you die

Much you’ll miss oh my

Why do you hurry to say bye

To long for sweet by and by

For here heaven you deny

Though money it require not to buy

Much to gain before yet you fly

Yet you can forget what made you cry

Tears will not ever flow from your eye

For more are the joys than the things that try

DAYLIGHT   SPRING

by Hillary Turyagyenda

Apple-green pears and orchards ripe for harvest
Bright red roses and petals colourful in bloom
Blossoms are abundant in the noon sunshine
Views spectacular in the foreground for sight
Ladies walk in the abandon of leisureliness
Paces flow the robes of fair maidens pleased

*

Air is lean in the glow of daylight spring
Breeze blows softly through the sprawling gardens
Whistling tree leaves shake to sighing of wind
Birds alight upon perches of branches of bush
Chuckling, clucking, singing the anthem of joy
Sudden burst of flight to skies of flocking together
Down round up and about the open field of play
Free-spirited teasers of the gazing eye below
Evening draws the curtain that is nightfall
Sleepers retreat into the nests of slumber’s roll
