The Reality in the Kingdom

Tag: Christian Livingjsonko @ 12:21 am

Many a time, I have heard folks talk about reality. They have said we have to be real and I fully support them but their version of reality is misdirected. To many, reality is Satan and his actions or the way things appear.
Let us understand the Kingdom we are in and by the end, we will have a clear understanding of this reality.

First let us understand the Kingdom. The word Kingdom has two words that make it up- King and Domain. In other words it is the King’s domain and it is where the King exercises his dominion. I, therefore believe it is safe to say that “have dominion” is equivalent to Kingdom.
A Kingdom is different from a democracy where the rule of majority is the order of the day. In a Kingdom, it is not just the reverse but it is just an individual calling the shots and that is why it is easier to misuse that power and authority in a Kingdom. This individual is the King and his word is law. It is not a suggestion.
Let us continue to explore this concept of the “word being law”.
In the book of Daniel, Daniel’s enemies knew this concept and hence tricked the King to offer a decree which had to be obeyed in the whole of the Kingdom. Side note: Daniel didn’t obey that order for he was obeying a greater King. The King had no option but to go by his word and have Daniel thrown into the Lion’s Den. This King couldn’t reverse his words but a higher power (a greater King) could exert authority and overrule his word/law. This is a fundamental truth that believers need to understand. No matter what any man or Satan says, the word of our KING reigns supreme. Now Paul’s statement in Corinthians, “Let God be true and every man a liar” takes on a different light. Yes man may have said something, the devil said you can’t make it but what does God say. All they say pales in light of what God has said and hence God remains supreme in all He says or does.

This now leads us to what reality is.
John 17:17
Another translation of this scripture states that “thy word is reality”. Truth is reality and His word is truth. Here we deal with the reality in the Kingdom.
Let us look at our Kingdom in the light of God’s word to fully grasp this reality I am talking about. This Kingdom is based on the God’s system even though it is in the devil’s world system. It is surpassing to say that God’s system is not affected by the devil’s system but that system can affect the Kingdom occupants only if they allow it. If they work God’s system, the devil’s system will be overcome. I didn’t say it will disappear but I said it would be overcome because the devil’s system is still here until the lease expires.

So this Kingdom must have a different reality than that in the devil’s system. The devil is the god of this world, and also note that this ‘world’ refers to the system. The earth has he given to man and we can work it or explore it.
So what is this reality in the Kingdom? The reality is the word. Thy word, Oh God, is reality. Thy word is settled in heaven and it accomplishes what it has been sent to do. In the Kingdom, the reality of our existence is the word of God.
A friend of mine recently summarized it in this manner;
“People have decided to fill themselves with all that appears on TV especially in soap operas. This has resulted in looking at the stuff from TV as the real world that when you talk about the actual reality to them, it is ideal or it is not of significance to them because their real world is based on events on TV”

This reminds me of couples that try to compare one another with what happens to TV. The last time I checked, they were called actors and after the show, they took different paths. I wonder why we try to compare to that. Being real is not speaking about your problems. Like I have stated before, being real is about having the word of God as your benchmark. So being real is talking about the work of God in your life and talking about his nature.
